The Leesburg Bluestockings gets its name from the 18th century literary club, The Blue Stocking Society. In 18th century England, Blue Stocking women supported each other in intellectual endeavors such as reading, artwork, and writing. The Leesburg Bluestockings meet once every six weeks to discuss "brainy" books. You may not wear stockings anymore (unless you're Kate Middleton!), but as women, we still need to carve out an intellectual forum. Join us!
