Well, I for one, love to read. I would also love to take reading to the next level with a little discussion. I have a few things in mind for this book club: 1) Read some stuff. Obvs. 2) Use some brain power to think and discuss. 3) Meet other Portland women in my age range (early 30s). 4) Have a nice evening once a month despite rain clouds. 5) Maybe have a glass of wine/beer? Hmmm? Or tea. Who's with me?

Greetings Book-Loving Mamas of Portland, I moved to Portland a year ago and have a 7-month old son. Have always loved to read and would love to be a part of a book club where moms can meet other moms, engage in their love of books and have their babies with them if they cannot get a babysitter. Specifically, I say we work our way through the Top 100 Novels List as devised by the Modern Library. A stellar selection of books for those who love the classics. To view the list, click the link below: …
"My sister and I are avid readers. After exploring this site and seeing how popular ChickLit type groups are, we decided it might be fun to start our own. My sis works at Barnes and has an "In" to all the good ChickLit books coming out. So we hope to have some really good books to read and discuss. Also we hope to meet some new friends in the Portland area." Above is the description that I wrote when the group was first started. Since then my sister started culinary school (while working full ti …

As a women, I feel it is a privilege to be able to create a warm, safe and entertaining enviornment for my husband, my family and my friends. I found a wonder tool that helps me stay on track and it is a book called "Simple Abundance" by Sarah Ban Breathnach. It suggests how daily life can be an expression of your authentic self...which I think is the most honest way a women can live her life. The book starts in January and has evocative essays for every day of the year. This is not a Moms group …

I am looking for women who love to read and share the story with others. Who want to be in a book club, and don't feel they fit in any of the other groups.
The search for God is what is important; we need not always agree on the details of how we go about it. We thank God for the gift of The Urantia Book, the inspiration of our common activities, and we accept our responsibility to help share this divine revelation and its teachings with all men and women. We value diversity of opinion. We find spiritual unity in our mutual love of God, not in intellectual uniformity. Nothing is more important than for us to be as one, spiritually. Our only require …

SAFER DECISIONS IN MARRIAGE AND DATING Also visit the organizer's website at www.glassbook.org for Dating and Risk Mitigation Tools Mission #1: CONFLICT SAFETY. Many DV organizations for women provide lectures, support groups, and reading materials. Although they are valuable, these resources fall short by not providing an opportunity to role play newly learned skills. One does not learn to play tennis or ride a bike by simply reading a book! This Meetup group will role play, in a safe enviro …
