This book club is for young women who enjoy reading fiction and want to discuss books with others. Hopefully, the meetups will be a relaxed fun atmosphere to discuss the book, enjoy a coffee, and make friends. The book club will meet about once a month at a member's home, coffee shop, or other venue. We will choose popular fiction books somewhere between real literature and chick lit.
Meetup details are available only to members.

Good books and good food go hand in hand, I think! A not-taken-too-seriously sort of women's book group that also shuns your everyday "chicklit" - not because some aren't romping good reads but they don't exactly warrant full discussion. Meetings take place at a restaurant or establishment so we can all try new places. Also, if you don't quite get around to finishing the book (or reading it for that matter...no worries!). Just feel free to come to the meetings and socialize too. Quarterly, we …

Join us for discussions on an eclectic mix of fiction and non-fiction books. We meet once a month - usually the evening of the third Thursday - at a member's home mid-Peninsula. The book for each month is chosen by a mixture of voting and consensus. Our discussions include both the book itself and the issues it raises. They are lively, informal, and respectful of everyone's view. Here are some books that we recently read: - "Brave New World" by Aldous Huxley - "The Haunting of Hill House" by …

Have you ever heard of Naked Girls Reading? It’s a group of ladies who enjoy giving readings of various works to a large audience au naturel. The group originated in Chicago two years ago when the founder’s husband caught his naked wife lying in repose focused intently on her book. At that moment, both agreed that there was something amazingly powerful about reading sans culottes. As a PhD literature grad student and a nudist, I have been doing this for years! And now, I think it’s the perfect t …
… Purpose of group: Meet other women who enjoy good conversation about politics (liberal leaning, please), books, travel, Scrabble, social trends, shared issues dealing with elderly parents or other relatives with difficult issues, or even a great buy at Nordstrom, whether to let our hair grow out grey and stop fussing, (or any of above), just not only about our kids or TV shows. Thinking about starting out with planned activities weekday evenings once a month and then going from there.... Who sho …
… I have 100's of videos and audio books that could be shared, and we could have interesting discussions on these. I'm a book-a-holic and read many of the best sellers as well as inspirational, self-help, science, etc. I like cooking and have some great recipes. I'm sure you do also, and that could be another area of sharing: cooking demonstrations as well as enjoying the tasty results! I have a cat, so be aware if you have pet allergies.

So maybe it's OK if we don't always have time to finish the book... This group is for Moms and expectant Moms in Silicon Valley who want to grow their social circles. I work at Google, and after having our baby my husband and I moved to Palo Alto after a year in London and many years in San Francisco. I'm looking to develop a social circle down South, and I'm guessing there are many other people like me out there! In this book club, we choose a book and a thematically appropriate cuisine (e.g., …
